      Agreed.
    • Next meeting:

  2. Campaign Updates:
    • Food Chain:
The group discussed the public meeting on the sustainable livestock Bill. DW said he had issued a press release. It was agreed that while the turnout was low it was a very worthwhile and informative event.
For those who has missed it the short film ‘The Killing Fields’ was screened.
    • Wonder of Wind:
DW reported that Ridgewind would continue efforts to construct a wind farm in the Dengie Peninsular. The company had recently undertaken a survey of residents and concluded that the majority were in favour of the scheme. A statement from DW and MD was issued to Ridgewind, documenting their experiences door-to-door in Southminster.
On an associated point it was noted that the wind turbine application at Westborough school had been unsuccessful. The application was refused by the planning inspector. JF confirmed that he had leafleted the surrounding streets, informing people of the wider issues at stake but this was too late to influence the planning appeal process.
    • SAEN:
DW reported that the recent Indian meal had raised over £500 and reported on the outrageous discovery that a Tory councillor had deleted e-mails from local residents on this topic unread. DW had issued a press release which he understood the Echo would be printing.
    • Climate Change: The Big Climate Connection:
DW and MD confirmed that they were scheduled to meet James Duddridge MP on climate change related matters on 26th November.
  3. Metal – Chalkwell House:
